Bradenton, Florida -- The 18th annual Jewels on the Bay Designer Showhouse is currently underway featuring two homes located on a protected bayfront inlet on Lido Key, just steps away from St. Armand's Circle.

The two homes at 361 and 439 Boulevard of the Presidents are two very different architectural styles, Mediterranean Revival and Prairie-School. They are open to the public for tours now until Sunday, Feb. 17. Tours are offered Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The cost for the tour is $20 and benefits both the Boys & Girls of Manatee and Sarasota Counties.

More than 30 designers will transform rooms using pacific blues, jade and celadon greens, corals and a revival of lavender. Additionally, guests will see modern architectural features donned in gold, black and white, zig-zag patterns and exotic animal prints.

“Spectacular views of Sarasota Bay and deep boating water is what sold us on our home,” says Danny Marr, one of the featured homeowners. As fine wine enthusiasts, the large climate-controlled cellar and tasting room is always stocked full of their favorites. Marr’s wife and Interior Designer, Debbie, in cooperation with Holly Dennis, ASID has enjoyed overseeing renovations of some of the participating designers.

New this year is Saks Fifth Avenue's role—combining fashion elements from a designer clothing perspective and smart accessory and makeup looks.

Keffie Lancaster, chair of the 2013 Jewels on the Bay Designer Showhouse describes the project: “Our local design stars are prepping and planning for the opening as we hope to draw a record-breaking crowd. From bright colors and open spaces to a waterfront estate, spacious and grand with an eclectic blend of seaside charm, traditional and edgy modern, these homes are a must-see attraction.”

The Showhouse has raised more than $500,000 for Boys & Girls Clubs in both Manatee and Sarasota Counties, and scholarship funds for Ringling College and Art + Design and University of South Florida.

Last year, the Showhouse donated more than $34,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs, in part due to a donation from a percentage of the sale of one of the homes on the tour. Lisa Morris, an associate with Premier Sotheby's International Realty, is the exclusive realtor for the 2013 homes on Lido Key. As the exclusive realtor, Morris is donating a portion of the home sale to BGC in Manatee and Sarasota counties.

“We are so grateful to Lisa Morris and Premier Sotheby’s for this unique opportunity and to the Showhouse Designers—the home tours offer a unique way for people in the community to support children and youth in our communities,” says Bill Sadlo, President and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County.

“The JOTB Designer Showhouse and the Boys & Girls Clubs is an awesome partnership that brings two different community groups together to help raise funds for over 10,000 children.  This is our 18th year and going strong.  Form my personal standpoint, I can’t wait to see the fantastic designs and fashions that come from all of the creative designers,” says Carl Weeks, President of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee.
