Twelve places to catch live music on Bradenton Beach

Twelve places to catch live music on Bradenton Beach

Living on the Island, the question that I get asked the most is “what is there to do around here at night?"

When I first threw my suitcase into the bungalow six years ago, the answer would have been “not much,” but a lot has changed in that time and Anna Maria Island now has a pretty active and interesting night life.

Off the top off my head (and please email me if I’ve missed something)…

Anna Maria Island: Beach wedding capital of Florida

Anna Maria Island: Beach wedding capital of Florida

This week begins the rush of wedding season this year, and I’ll be providing music for two weddings per week until the end of summer. While the season begins in February and ends in November (That’s right folks, ten months of weddings), it’s now entering the height of the season. Anna Maria Island hosts an estimated 500 wedding per year on this seven-mile stretch of sand.

It’s easy to understand why people pick our little island.  It has old-world charm,  a laid-back vibe, the prices of restaurants and venues are reasonable and the beach is a stone’s throw from everywhere. We don't have towering buildings or private beaches, so anyone who gets here first can set up an arch and chairs, say some vows and voila, they're married.

Sarasota, FL -- Kate Atkin, executive director of The Sarasota-Manatee Originals, announced that the organization will be offering $35,000 in discounted dining certificates on Wednesday, March 2!

Atkin says that $50 certificates will sell for $35; $25 certificates will sell for $17.50; and $15 certificates will sell for $12.50. After purchase, the certificates can be printed and used immediately.

“This represents savings of up to 30 percent,” says Atkin in a statement, explaining that this initiative is offered four times per year. “This is one of the ways we thank loyal customers and inspire those who may not have tried one of our member restaurants to experience our variety of dining options at a reduced price.”
