The program is a highly interactive program designed to achieve real outcomes for children.

“With only sixty minutes a week as a ReadingPal volunteer, each of us can help transform the lives of our community’s children through a mentor/teacher relationship that can be life-altering by increasing the probability of success in school which parallels so well with success in life,” says Philip Brown, President of United Way of Manatee County.

Art Monkey Math Mondays

Art Monkey Math Mondays

Lithia, Florida -- Education with a little art!  Art Monkey will begin "Math Mondays" the second Monday in September.

Kids stop by every Monday and take a grade appropriate quiz, and after passing 12 quizzes, they get to choose a bank or piece of pottery in that range to paint.  If they miss problems on the quiz, they retake the quiz the following week.

They have all year to get through the 12s, so it's a good incentive to learn their math facts!
