Immigration law firm to host citizenship classes in Bradenton

Bradenton, Florida - To help permanent residents take the exam to become a U.S. citizen, immigration law firm Goldman & Loughlin is offering free citizenship classes.

Topics will include eligibility for citizenship, "good moral character" issues and civics. Participants will review the interview process and 100 questions comprising the test.

“Quite frankly, most Americans would have trouble with the test," says Tom Goldman, Senior Partner. He adds that attendance at the classes will help improve chances of success at the interview.

Bradenton, Florida - Renovations to the Sandbar Restaurant are complete! That means owner Ed Chiles is ready to begin his next makeover.

A total renovation to the Beachhouse Resturant will begin soon. Plans include a new, state of the art kitchen, new bathrooms, new furnishings, a new dining room and a new deck design.  

The renovation will take place in two phases: the first includes renovating the kitchen, dining area, bathrooms and bar area. Work is expected to take place until January 2014.

The Florida Professional Photographers Association named Manny Cruz one of the Top Ten Photographers of the Year for a second year in a row. Cruz has been creating images in Manatee and Sarasota counties for 25 years.

Manatee County, Florida -- The Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County was presented the Lighthouse Beam Safety Award by BB&T Insurance on August 26th. 

BB&T Insurance Services established the Lighthouse Beam Safety Award Program to promote the prevention of workplace injuries. Recognition is provided based on overall safety performance and awards are granted for commendable, outstanding, and excellent performance.

Manatee High School shines with 4 seniors name National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists

Bradenton, Florida -- Four Manatee High School seniors have been named semifinalists in the academically prestigious 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,000 National Merit Scholarships, worth about $35 million that will be offered next spring.
