Sheena Morris' mother makes case to cops after 4-year fight | News

Tampa, Florida -- There's new hope for the family of Sheena Morris. Her death was ruled a suicide, but her family thinks she was murdered.
For four years, her mother has been working toward what will happen Monday morning: a chance to sit down with investigators and be taken seriously.
Kelly Osborn has given up her career -- everything else -- to prove that her daughter was murdered and didn't kill herself. She says she's searching for justice while local police have mismanaged the case.
Monday, she will get to present everything she's found to some of the top investigators in Florida.
Morris was found dead in a Bradenton Beach hotel room in 2009. Police quickly decided it was suicide.
But for her mother Kelly Osborn, it didn't add up. Her daughter loved life. And there was more -- just hours before, police had been called to that same room to break up a domestic dispute between Morris and her fiance, Joe Genoese.
Osborn pressured Bradenton Beach police for years to investigate it as a murder. They refused.
Finally, last year, a panel of experts met and found the case should be re-opened and reviewed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Not long after that, the fiance, Genoese, appeared on Dr. Phil here on 10 News and took a polygraph test.
The veteran examiner found Genoese had been deceptive when he said he didn't kill Morris and wasn't involved in her death.
The FDLE has gone to work on the case and the State Attorney's Office has assigned one of its best prosecutors to help review the evidence.
As one of the last steps in the process, agents will spend several hours Monday with Osborn and Sheena's father, Dave Morris.
Starting at 10 a.m. at the FDLE Field Office in Tampa's Westshore District, Osborn will show them what she's gathered: timelines, expert reports, and the results of that polygraph test.
Detectives and prosecutors will then work to conclude what brought this beautiful woman's life to an end -- suicide or murder.
