Bradenton, Florida -- The Anna Maria Oyster Bar Scholarship program graciously provides five $1,000 scholarships to students entering culinary or hospitality fields of study at either a technical school or degree program.  

Applications for the scholarships are due to the Manatee Education Foundation office by May 25, 2013. The application can be found at The Scholarship Source on the Manatee Education Foundation website at, www.MEFinfo.org.

Here are the qualifications for the scholarship instructions:

  • Applicant must be a graduating senior from a School District of Manatee County public high school
  • Five $1000 Anna Maria Oyster Bar Culinary Arts Scholarships will be awarded (nonrecurring)
  • The minimum cumulative GPA to qualify for the scholarship is 3.0
  • Candidates will be evaluated on academic performance, financial need, involvement in school and community activities and the submitted essay
  • Attach a one-page, typed essay about your desire to major in the culinary arts or a related hospitality industry career
  • Attach a completed FAFSA form
  • Must plant to enroll in: A full time Culinary Arts, Hotel/Restaurant Management or Hospitality related field job preparatory program at an accredited trade or technical school
  • You must submit a completed application to the: Manatee Education Foundation, 215 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton
