Police: Man stalks 9-year-old on way to school | News
Bradenton, Florida -- Police are searching for the man accused of following a 9-year-old girl in his car while on her way to school.
According to the Manatee Sheriff's Office, around 8 o'clock this morning, the girl was walking from her home to Orange Ridge/Bullock Elementary School. She was in the 2800 block of 9th Street E. heading south when she saw a man in a newer model 4-door car with tinted windows roll down his window and wave her toward the car.
The girl told police she got scared and ran to Noreen's Deli in the 500 block of 30th Avenue E. She then saw the car come down 5th Street and stop short of 30th Avenue. She told police he continued to watch her, but did not make any more hand gestures.
She then ran to the intersection of 1st Street and 30th Avenue E. where she found a crossing guard and told them what happened.
The man was last seen crossing 30th Avenue heading south on 5th Street E. He is described as a white male with short hair, possibly balding, with sunglasses on top of his head.
