Urn lost in 2008 accident found along road | News
Wesley Chapel, Florida (AP) - A widower who lost the urn containing his wife's ashes in a traffic accident four years ago can now have them back, if he wants them.
The Tampa Bay Times reported Tuesday that Eddie Frazier was recently clearing brush alongside Interstate 75 with a tractor-like machine when he noticed something that looked like a bowl. He realized it was an urn. He unscrewed the lid and found the name "Janice Lee Scharff" inside. The Pasco County Sheriff's Office discovered she was the late wife of Ronald Scharff of Bradenton.
Scharff had a rollover accident on that stretch of I-75 in 2008, a year after his wife's death. The urn flew out the window and couldn't be found. Scharff was supposed to pick the urn up Monday but didn't show.
