Manatee beats Palmetto 29-26

The Palmetto Tigers hosted Manatee this week. The Tigers went into this one undefeated at 6-0, but in a back-and-forth battle Manatee came out on top 29-26, handing Palmetto their first loss of the season.

In the first quarter, Manatee quarterback Cord Sandberg looked for 6 instead, and DeQuan Reddick came down with the interception to rob the 'Canes. Palmetto scored first to lead 6-0.

Packers send Lakewood Ranch packing 42-22

Fresh off of Coach Rick Rodriguez's 100th win the Largo Packers played host to Lakewood Ranch Friday.  And the Packers picked up right where they left off, quickly jumping out to a 21-0 lead.

By halftime it was 28 to 6 as the home team was putting on quite the show.  In the second half Largo added two more scores as the both Derrick Doss and running back Harry Brown found the endzone.  Brown lead the way on the ground for the Packers as he had 138 yards on 11 carries.

Palmetto routs Bayshore 42-7

Palmetto, FL - The Palmetto Tigers delivered another big win Friday night, easily defeating the Bayshore Bruins 42-7, in a Class 5A district 10 battle. 

The victory was the 10th consecutive regular-season win for the Tigers, who have outscored their last four opponents 166-10.

Palmetto (6-0)and (2-0) in district play, have a bye this Friday, before facing key district games with Southeast and Wauchula Hardee. 

Manatee runs past Southeast 48-6

Bradenton, FL - The Manatee Hurricanes and Southeast Gators were set to renew their annual backyard brawl for the 30th time.   Manatee leads the series 15-14.

Southeast (4-0) was looking to keep their perfect season alive while Manatee (1-2) didn't want to drop three of their first four games. 

The game was tied 6-6 in the first quarter, but then the Hurricanes stormed past the Noles, scoring 42 unanswered points running with a 48-6 victory.




Shorecrest spoils Saint Stephen's Homecoming with 42-27 win

Bradenton, FL - The Saint Stephen's Falcons Friday afternoon homecoming game against the Shorecrest Prep Chargers started well, as the Falcons jumped to an early 13-0 first quarter lead.

But then the Chargers scored 35 unanswered points, easily running away with a 42-27 victory.

Shorecrest senior running back Alex Drexler lead the Chargers rushing attack with 153 yards and four touchdowns on seven carries.

With the win, Shorecrest goes to 2-3, while Saint Stephen's falls to 0-4.
