Bradenton, Fla. -- Everything was set up perfectly for Palmetto to reach the state title game for the first time since 1986.  Palmetto was at home.  They had a 20-0 lead.

But Miami Norland had other ideas.  The visiting Vikings rallied for a 35-27 win in the Class 5A state semifinal game.

Tony Thomas scored on a 36-yard touchdown run to complete the rally and give Norland a 21-20 lead.

The Vikings' superstar running back Duke Johnson sealed it with a 72-yard touchdown run.

Palmetto build the 20-point lead with a balanced effort.  T.J. Mann returned a blocked field goal 65 yards for a 13-0 lead.

Trent Miller threw a 17-yard score to Cory Crawford for the 20-0 lead.

Palmetto finished the season 12-2.
