Bradenton, FL - The Pinellas Park Patriots, back in the playoffs for the first time in ten years, traveled south over the Skyway Bridge, taking on the highly favored Bradenton Manatee Hurricanes.

Early on, the game was close, with Manatee leading 7-2 after the first quarter.   But then the Canes got things rolling in the second quarter, with quarterback Cord Sandberg, twice connecting with Anthony Lauro, giving Manatee a 22-2 halftime lead.

In the third, running back Antonio Agurs scored two touchdowns, helping the Canes roll to the 55-2 victory.

Manatee will stay at home next Friday, for the second round, taking on Venice, who advanced by defeating the Countryside Cougars 28-27.
