Postal Service to collect toys at mailboxes December 1

Tampa, FL-- It seems early to start thinking of the holidays, but the Suncoast District of the U.S. Postal Service wants to inform its customers of their upcoming toy drive. 

On December 1, the Postal Service asks those customers who are able to leave unwrapped toys by their mailboxes, or in bins at the nearest post office. 

The toys will support the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation to "brighten the holiday for less fortunate children."

Bradenton, Florida -- Manatee's 10th Annual Goblin Gathering holds an extra surprise for families this year.

The county has paired this year's Goblin Gathering with National Night Out to bring families a double dose of fun and information.

Goblin Gathering will feature a costume contest, face painting, a hayride, bounce houses and an 18-foot inflatable slide. Admission is $5 for the bounce house, hayride and face painting. Concessions will be available for purchase.

Bradenton, Florida -- To celebrate the end of the 2012 season, the Bradenton Marauders have scheduled a party for fans.

The event is scheduled for Sept. 27, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the Holiday Inn Sarasota Bradenton Airport.

RSVP is required by Sept. 21.

The Marauders averaged a team record 1,515 fans per game during the 2012 season.

Bradenton, Florida -- Opportunities to catch the 2012 Bradenton Marauders are dwindling down.

The team has just five home games left before the season ends Sept. 2.

The Marauders host a three game series with the Fort Myers Miracle starting Aug. 27.

McKechnie Field will also be home to a two game set with the St. Lucie Mets to close out the year Sept. 1 - 2.

Deputies taser brothers after argument escalates

Bradenton, Florida -- An argument between two siblings resulted in deputies tasering both of them after the dispute turned physical early Wednesday morning.   

The sheriff's office says deputies were forced to taser 22-year-old Christopher Monroe and his 20-year-old brother, Marc, after they refused to stop exchanging blows with each other at a home on Millbrooke Circle.

Afterwards, both brothers were arrested on domestic battery charges.

Monday's game is a Florida Central Credit Union Buyout Night.

Following that is a "2 for 1 Tuesday" and a "Thirsty Thursday," among other promotions.
