Man arrested for gagging, burning woman as a "Lie Detector Test"

Bradenton, FL - Detectives from the Bradenton Police Department arrested 30-year-old Sean S. Thomas of Bradenton, Florida today, on charges of one count of False Imprisonment and one count of Aggravated Battery Causing Bodily Harm or Disability.

The investigation began when an adult female acquaintance of his reported to police that she and Thomas were involved in an argument on Dec. 1. While at Thomas' residence, she was struck on the head with his fist. She was tied up while he administered a "Lie Detector Test" so he could determine if she had been sleeping with any other men.

He then placed a rag in her mouth and repeatedly burned her with a lit cigar, boiling water and a hot iron, while asking her questions.  She was unbound after a  period of lengthy questioning.  He then called 911 to request medical assistance, after which the female victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment by EMS.  The victim, who has since been released, suffered severe burns to her hands, stomach and feet.
