Crime

Bayshore Gardens, Florida -- Florida Highway Patrol troopers are searching for the driver of a possible Scion who hit a motorcyclist on U.S. 41 near Bayshore Gardens Parkway Thursday morning.

Troopers say around 8:52 a.m., 55-year-old Mark Holt was riding his motorcycle in the center southbound lane on U.S. 41 when the driver of the purple or red small compact car, that may be a Scion, merged into the center lane and collided with him.

Holt, of Binghamton, NY, was ejected from the bike and is currently in serious condition at Manatee Memorial Hospital. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Troopers say the vehicle will have windshield or driver's side window damage.

If anyone has any information please call Trooper James Harris of the Florida Highway Patrol.
