Additional reward money offered in drive-by shooting death | Crime
Bradenton, Florida -- The Bradenton Police Department has announced the Gold Star Club of Manatee County, Inc. has added an additional $5,000 to a previous reward of $1,000 from Crime Stoppers of Manatee County for infomation leading to the arrest the suspect or suspects responsible for the shooting death of 31-year-old Renee Salinas.
Salinas was killed on Dec. 9, 2012, around 3:15 a.m. when police say he was shot at by a passing car while sitting in a vehicle at the intersection of 27th Street and 13th Avenue East. An passenger described the vehicle as a light-colored, 4-door sedan, which continued westbound on 13th Avenue East after the shooting.
Salinas sustained a single fatal gunshot wound and died at the scene.
The case is still active and Bradenton Police Captain Warren Merriman says he hopes the added reward money will help motivate witnesses to come forward with information that will help investigators and bring closure to Salinas' family.
