Bradenton, Fl. - People in need this holiday season will not go hungry, thanks to the generous community. More than 130,000 pounds of food was collected for the 5th annual "Stuff the Bus" campaign for The Food Bank of Manatee.

“Stuff the Bus does more than meet the needs of many children and families in our community – it provides a very visible example of what good people can accomplish when they work together for a worthy cause,” says Rick Mills, School District of Manatee County Superintendent.Manatee County School District buses were parked in front of Publix locations in Manatee county to be filled up and the response was overwhelming!

“Fortunately, we live in a community that cares for one another. This initiative is a perfect example of how reaching out a hand to one can influence the condition of all.  Together, we are able to make a huge impact in the fight against hunger," says Philip Brown, President of the United Way of Manatee County.
