Bradenton, Florida -- Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast helped change more childrens' lives by hosting Cooking for Kids and crowing some chefs at the same time.

The "Top Chef" culinary extravaganza was held on May 18 at IMG Academy Golf Club. Twenty local chefs showed off their culinary specialties along with cocktails, music, a silent auction and fun!

There were two categories for the winning chefs: Professional and Amateur.

Professional: David Meador, Renaissance on 9th. He served Cuban style pulled pork served on masa cakes with tangerine and kumquat chutney.

Amateur: Christina Witt. She served Berry and Dark Chocolate mini cupcakes and Andes Mint mini cupcakes.

Proceeds benefit one-to-one mentoring programs for children of Manatee County. The program for children ages 6-18 years old provides children facing adversity, often those of single or low-income households or families with strong and enduring, professionally supported relationship that change their lives for the better.
