26th Annual Victims Candlelight Vigil | Community Spirit
Bradenton, Florida -- The week of April 22 - 28 has been designated as National Crime Victim Rights Week to promote victims’ rights and honor crime victims and those who advocate on their behalf.
The theme of this year's NCVRW is "Extending the Vision: Reaching Every Victim" and the theme colors are blue and black.
The Manatee Victim Rights Council is hosting a Candlelight Vigil to recognize crime victims those who help victims in trouble on Monday, April 23.
The guest speaker for the event will be Major Connie Shingledecker of the Manatee County Sheriff's Office. GeeBee, a service dog with the MCSO since November 2011, will be the special guest for the night. GeeBee works with the Victim Advocate and Crime Prevention Units of MCSO. GeeBee was trained by Southeastern Guide Dogs and has already proven to be a tremendous asset to the sheriff's office.
The event will be held at the Manatee County Courthouse, located at 1115 Manatee Ave. W. in Bradenton.
