Bradenton, Florida -- A local photographer has been recognized by a panel of nationally ranked judges.

The Florida Professional Photographers Association named Manny Cruz one of the Top Ten Photographers of the Year for a second year in a row. Cruz has been creating images in Manatee and Sarasota counties for 25 years.

Cruz was awarded in five categories: Portrait of a Women, Photographic Open Illustrated, Environmental Portrait,  Group Portrait and "Impending Storm" a Utah Landscape with a Native American dancer in the freground was also awarded.

"Timeless" a Studio Bridal Portrait was awarded in the, Portrait of a Women category.

"Fender 50, My Collection" was awarded in the Photographic Open Illustrated category.

It was created to commemorate the complete collection of Fender Bass Guitars which spanned the first 50 years of production. The image featured 29 Bass Guitars and their Bass playing owner Stephen F. Schlueter. "Who would have thought a bass collection could look so awesome. I can't stop loolking at it," says Schueter. The image was published in the Bass Guitar Magazine.

"I Got Your Back" was awarded in the Environmental Portrait category. It was created to promote the Firefighter Training program at M.T.I.

"Falcon Lacrosse" a composited group was awarded in the Group Portrait cateory. It was created to promote St. Stephens Episcopal School’s fledgling Varsity Lacrosse team.
